In calendar year 2011 the donations fell way below the minimum needed for a viable coalition and because of that fact we were informed that we could face both an audit and fines as a result. We were advised that to avoid this the CCHI should be terminated.
Also, the fact the as CREIA’s new management company AdvoCal by contract is now providing full lobbying services to meet the needs of the Profession and a parallel coalition was not really necessary.
Historically CCHI has represented the interest of the Home Inspection Profession through the involvement of CREIA, ASHI and AII. Given that CREIA has excellent relationships with both ASHI and AII the Chairs felt that there would be no significant negative impact on any of the stated organizations by dissolving CCHI. AdvoCal will continue to lobby in the similar interest of all three organizations with no drop in representation.
It was also felt that should in the future we need to further pool our resources for the protection of our profession we have the means in place to do as such. Since lobbying is now covered by contract, fund raising is not at this time needed and given the economic times we live in perhaps those funds can be better directed internally through localized Chapter marketing, advertising and PR campaigns.
Regional Directors, please pass this information along to your respective Chapter Presidents.
